There are some places that linger in your memory long after you’ve left, and for me, Duck Pond Cottage in St. Martins is one of them.
I stayed here a couple of Novembers ago, but I still find myself thinking back to that peaceful weekend often. Maybe it’s the sound of the tide rolling in, the coziness of the fireplace, or the simple joy of watching Toy Story on VHS while the fire crackled beside me, but this cottage has become one of those stays that feels timeless.
Why St. Martins is the Perfect Year-Round Destination
St. Martins, New Brunswick is a spot I find myself returning to in every season. In the summer, the Bay of Fundy coastline is alive with the sound of waves and seagulls, and the beaches are perfect for long walks and sea glass hunting. But even in the quiet winter months, there’s something special about being here; when the village slows down and you can truly feel the rhythm of coastal life.
Duck Pond Cottage is nestled right next to Duck Pond Beach, my favourite beach in St. Martins, and just a short drive from the sea caves, covered bridges, and scenic Fundy Trail Parkway. Whether you’re chasing sunsets in July or peaceful beach walks in November, this spot feels like a local secret.
Inside Duck Pond Cottage
From the moment you step inside, Duck Pond Cottage feels like home. Surfboards hang from the rafters, there’s a record player waiting to be played, and the decor is full of thoughtful, coastal touches.
It’s the kind of place where you instantly slow down.
You might spend your evening curled up on the couch by the fireplace, or wake up early to take your coffee down to the beach and watch the tide recede. My favourite memory? A quiet evening spent watching Toy Story on VHS, fire flickering, surrounded by that perfect kind of Maritime coziness.

What Makes This Stay Special
Duck Pond Cottage is the perfect blend of cozy, character, and close-to-the-ocean. It feels like a true reflection of the Fundy coastline, rugged and charming, with a whole lot of heart.
If you’re looking for a weekend getaway that balances adventure and rest, this is it.

Whether you’re exploring the Fundy Trail, walking the beach at low tide, or simply slowing down for a couple of days, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and reminded of how good it feels to just be by the ocean.
